What if you were given this tablet but your problem doesn’t seem so serious,would you take it or not?I was given this medicine from my doctor 4 days ago but I haven’t started taking it yet cuz,my only problem now is I don’t bladder frequently and I had to strain a lot to bladder but other than that,the other medication that I’m taking helped to overcome other situation(Heartburn,acid reflux,bloating).I don’t want to further damage my digestive system by taking medications cuz I was told that it takes time for the body to get back to normal cuz the body itself is the Doctor,prevent from taking medication and take more of natural ways of remedy(healthy diet).Plus,I heard that if a person is not in serious pain,they should avoid taking medications cuz it’s not really good.Is this true?Based on these infos I’ve provided,do you think I should take this tablet or not?I’m a bit agitated and confused about it now T_T

During my period I wake up at night with heartburn. I take Pepcid (which seems to work just fine during other times of the month) and it does not work. I try keeping myself slightly elevated or sitting up, and that helps a little, but not completely and I usually end up loosing at least an hour and a half of sleep just waiting for the heartburn to go away – which usually happens right before I need to get up anyway. Why is this only happening during my period? ( I don’t think it has anything to do with what I ate – eggplant parmesan with homemade tomato sauce – not spicy, not fatty, no sugar except natural in the tomatoes… well tomatoes are acidic….) I’ve tried a few other remedies like milk or sugar-water but haven’t found anything that consistantly works…

A few months ago, I started having stomach problems after I ate. The issues ranged a lot depending on what I ate, but I couldn’t find one specific thing that was worse than others. I’m 15 years old and I’ve been a vegetarian since the age of five. I’ve had past problems with dairy that seemed to be short term, so I decided to try going vegan to see if my symptoms persisted. Before this, I had gone to a doctor who ran some tests for various things such as Celiac (family history), Crohns, etc (cannot recall others). All were negative. He put me on strong antacids to try before each meal. They worked okay, but for some reason or another I stopped taking them and went vegan. This new diet was a bit of a leap of faith, because for a week or so stretch I was getting nauseated after eating absolutely anything-from pasta and kidney beans to a banana. I went vegan on July 2nd. I was fine for the most part, but occasionally I would get randomly ill. These events were sporadic, so I ignored them and appreciated that I seemed to be better overall. A few days ago, I started getting stomach aches after eating again. I never throw up-I’ve gotten the runs, been bloated, and felt like I needed to vomit-but I never did. Often with these pains I get what I’d assume to be heartburn. I remember, though, that this first doctor had ruled out acid-reflux for some reason. I’ll also usually get a slight fever-I never actually take my temperature, but I’ll get very cold and when I go to feel my forehead, it’s warmer than usual. Please keep in mind that I am currently not eating eggs, meat, or dairy. I realize that I could have a gluten intolerance that the test for Celiac would not have picked up on, but wheat roducts don’t always make me sick. I usually get crippling stomach pains after eating rice, but not rice products. I’m not as thin as I’d like to be, but I’m more ’soft’ than overweight (no one’s told me I need to loose weight, at least not a doctor or health care professional). I’d also like to note that sometimes these stomach pains feel as if there is a dull ache due to a stick or something going through me between my last few ribs. It’s not really a sharp pain, I’m probably making it sound like torture, but it just strikes me as odd that it affects my back. I am going to see a GI specialist soon, but it’s just been bothering me so much I was hoping I could go with some insight. Perhaps after all this someone has a few things I should suggest to be tested for? If you’ve read all the way to the end of this, wow, you’re a swell person. Even if you cannot help me, I really appreciate you looking this over in an attempt to assist me. I am very grateful for any advice, ideas, suggestions, whatever you have to offer. Thanks!

PS (Not ridiculously important, in case you have something to say but can’t put up with me any longer, you can skip this): I just wanted to add a few things that might be worth taking into consideration… I’m not pregnant, I promise; I’ve never had an eating disorder; I have no doctor confirmed allergies (the rice I declared on my own accord); I’m not willing to eat meat again; and I am moderately medicine opposed. Meaning, I LOVE natural remedies, I’ll edit my diet (as you can see from my veganism), I’m all for vitamins, I just don’t like relying on pills. Obviously, I’ll give them a chance if they’re necessary, just putting all of that out there.

For the past 2 1/2 days I have been experiencing Real bad pain in the middle of my chest which continues to the part where your lungs seperate in the middle of your body. It hurts when I eat (feels like swallowing razor blades) and it also hurts when I drink anything warm or carbonated.
I have tried taking “pepto Bismol”, Rolaids and Gaviscon, but none of them seem to do the trick. We have just moved to thi s province so I do NOT have a doctor yet to go to…anyone have an Idea what this pain is?..or any “natural” remedy if it is just acid or heartburn?…Please help if you can, and thank you in advance for any advice

I am young vocalist and I just finished my first year of college as a voice major. About two weeks after I started college, I started having a sensation of a lump in my throat, and then started waking up with a sore throat and had a “clicking” sensation in my throat every time I swallowed. I went to an ENT, and he told me I had acid reflux, even though I had no heartburn at all or any other symptoms of reflux. So I went on a combination of prescription and OTC PPI’s (I’ve tried Kapidex and Nexium, and Prilosec and Prevacid OTC), stayed away from what I was told were trigger foods, elevated the head of my bed, stopped eating at night, and everything else they tell you to do, and it has not helped. No matter what I do, the symptoms persist. All that happened was weight loss from the change in diet, and for someone who is only 10 pounds away from being underweight, this is not good. My ENT was stumped and sent me to a GI doctor. He seems to think its non-acidic reflux and wanted to do a scope, but my insurance would not cover it, so I don’t think that is going to happen. As a vocalist, having an irritated throat all the time is no good, although thankfully I have not experienced hoarseness or anything and have been able to sing like normal. I’m just so afraid that it’s only going to get worse and that there is nothing I can do to stop it. Singing is my passion, and I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to pursue my passion. Is there anyone out there who has any suggestions or is experiencing this as well? Does anyone know of any natural remedies perhaps? I am very young and never had problems before college, so I have no idea why this is all of sudden there.

MeMeMe-Actually my ENT already ruled out the possibility of mucous and drainage…said my sinuses where clear. I do have lots of mucous in my throat some days, but not others. My throat is always irritated, but the severity of the symptoms and the location where I feel irritation is different from day to day. Some days it feels almost normal, aside from the constant “clicking”
I have in my throat. But thank you so much for your answer and the advice!

Maybe-I know I’m not lactose-intolerant. I am already vegetarian and do not drink coffee and hardly any soda, and when I do it’s not caffeinated. Many people in my church are vegan, and I tried a vegan diet with no results other than weight loss, which, as I stated before, is not good for me. It seems like no matter what I eat, I still have symptoms.
