How do I convince my boyfriend to see a doctor for his heartburn?

He gets heartburn at least once a week, sometimes more often. I’m concerned because I’ve seen the effects of heartburn and acid reflux left untreated, as my uncle had this and ended up getting esophogus cancer. I would like my boyfriend to see a doctor to rule out any major medical issues, and get treatment. But he doesn’t want to see a doctor, how to I make him go?

I am afraid you cannot make him do anything although anyone with regular heartburn should get it checked out.
It does not necessarily mean that it has anything to do with cancer, but it can be numerous other things to do with digestion, liver abnormalities or simply that he may be having something that does not quite agree with him.
Also, cardiac victims start with heartburn. This is not to frighten you but maybe he just doesnt think the severity of his hearburn is serious enough. Show him this answer and tell him a few simple blood tests could easily give him a clean bill of health or can get him sorted out easily.
Irritable bowel syndrome can also give you this so it a wide spread problem.
