At what point in a normal healthy pregnancy does a HPT not work anymore?

I have heard that at a certain point women can/will start getting negative pregnancy tests at a certain point, because of something to do with your hormones.

I had to do a clinical rotation at the County Jail here where I live and we tested women that were 8/9 months pregnant – and they all came up positive – silly I know to test someone so far along but it was jail policy
A pregnancy test detects if, (and the name of the horomone is not coming to me anymore), is in your urine. but that will go start to go down at a certain point yes, but I’m 95% sure it doesn’t fully go away until you are actually no longer pg… And if it were to go away completely at some point, I’m pretty sure it’s not until the middle of you 2nd tri and by then you’d be showing…
