For those who had a healthy pregnancy, when did you give birth?

Did you give birth on, before, or after your due date?
I’ve had no issues during my pregnancy, but another user asked a question which has sparked my paranoia. I’m having my baby shower on the 27th of June and I’m due on the 12th of July. I’m worried i’ll give birth before then! I know it’s late to be having a shower but family and other commitments have prevented us from planning anything sooner.
Thanks ladies ![]()
Sorry, I did forget to add that he is my first. Pretty important detail to leave out, lol. Thanks Jennifer.

Is it your first? First babies seem to nearly always be late. My son was born 3 days after his due date and my pregnancy was also completely healthy.
Due on the 23rd, baby came on the 18th due to lots of walking.
I had my healthy baby boy when I was 41 weeks and I had my baby shower when I was 36 weeks. Yes you are having a late shower and there is a chance you can have the baby before your shower. If you do, the hospital will provide you with diapers and a couple other things but I think your family will help you right away so you can have things for your baby, if before your shower. Good luck
I have had 2 babies. My 1st I was induced a week before my due date, my 2nd I was induced 2 days before my due date. I have heard from several people your 1st holds out longer, but in my case they loved the womb until they were forced out LOL. They are happy and healthy today. No worries girl! God bless to you and your baby!
I was due April 2nd 2009 and we had my baby shower one week befor that. I worked everyday at a nursing home bathing lifting and lots of walking my son was born April 15th. so the shower wasnt to late i had everything ready. and even if its not ready your just going to hold him and look on in awe every day for a good week. good luck.
And he was my first
Only around 3-5% of babies are actually born on their due date, with the majority being born anytime from 38 to 42 weeks, which is considered full term. It’s a good idea to just state your ‘due date’ at 42 weeks and not 40 weeks.
According to a study on ‘The length of uncomplicated human gestation’ by the Department of Epidemiology, Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, they found:
“For primiparas (first child), the median duration of gestation from assumed ovulation to delivery was 274 days, significantly longer than the predicted 266 days. For multiparas (more than one child), the median duration of pregnancy was 269 days, also significantly longer than the prediction. Moreover, the median length of pregnancy in primiparas proved to be significantly longer than that for multiparas”
My first was 6 days late
My second was “apparently” 7 days but it was actually more like 9 or 10
I am now pregnant with my third and due mid August
I had no problems and had my daughter the day after her due date. A study suggested the average first time mom gives birth 5 days overdue. 90% of the women i know that didn’t have any problems during there pregnancy went overdue. The women that go before there due date are usually ones that have had problems or issues along the way.
